Black Rain

Black rain falling from the skies,
Covering over the tears she cries
From all the loneliness kept inside.
But for us she grins, at least she tries

Day after day the same old fight
Against the day and against the light.
Waiting for the moon and the night;
When its the darkest she shines bright

I try to help because I feel the same.
A friendship stronger than links in a chain,
Sometimes cannot overcome the pain
Of a heartache colored stain

She smiles at me and I smile too,
Both knowing what we have to do.
A day at a time just to get through;
Till the tear drops turn to green from blue
