Black Painted Mirror

This mirror holds my reflection, Staring back at me all alone, Far back in my minds recollection, Watching how I've grown, This mirror shows my imperfections, Reflecting the depths of my soul, The more I stare the less I feel a connection, Gazing at a stranger becoming old, Silver backed glass reveals this projection, Revealing a heart becoming a tombstone, Paint this mirror black in my rejection, Because the image I want is not the image shone.

Oh how touching and vulnerable your musing is in this write Corwin.., I love it! It makes me want to say; 'don't let your heart become a tombstone...' Your voice really reached me in this lovely poem :)
