Black Lives Matter

Black lives matter
The popular maxim for the day
We gather hand in hand
A reprieve from the hateful things we do - and what we say

Let's be more than a social media image
Let's rise above and talk honestly about life
We’re all part of the human species
Together, we can win this fight

We must all do the best we can
Encourage everyone to be better than the day before
We must let go of the blame and over-generalizations
Then - our humanity begins to soar

The word privilege now becomes ubiquitous
We've risen up from harsher times
The lessons learned from our darker days
Now brings forth light into all our lives

So lets become the change we wish to see
Ephemeral is our time
All lives matter
The new maxim - It's a gift to be alive

I will ponder these words today, Kelly, problem is, there are some who for whatever reason harbor hate in their hearts and it is impossible to change what is in someone else's heart. Still we must speak out, we are all part of the same human race. JOhn

We will never end racism, but we can minimize it. Humans are tribal creatures and those who stuck together survived. Their genes were passed on to others who stuck together and survived. So i guess the goal is not to end it, but for those who will not change is to perhaps compromise. Another issue is victimization - if you label yourself as a victim, there is nothing you can do. We need more personal responsibility. Thanks John
