Black Holiday Taunt

Black Holiday Taunt
By Valerie Odom
December 24, 2016

Another year’s gone by,
Another holiday look how time flies
Another lie programmed into my brain
But this year I’m awake
Tryna break off the chain

They just want you either for your money,
For your history, or for your vote
The government tries to control and divide us,
Diced up like peppers, ready to kill us and bribe us

I ain’t celebrating no holidays
What’s President’s Day got to do with me?
Thank you for the days off though
But I ain’t with all that negativity

It’s another year marked of lies today
And things just aren’t going your way
Look at me crazy but kill me if you want
Get used to our power because this is our Black Holiday Taunt.
