Black Death

The ooze keeps flowing; bleeding, the earth cries,
"Someone help!! Stop the leaching; stop the black death!!"
Cover the wounds of greed, cover the sickness.
Help the innocent lives, being destroyed by this flow.
Pulsing, life of the USA, our heartbeat is weakening with each gallon lost.
Who will revive the country? Who is our super hero? Who has the courage?
Black gold has turned to our death.

**Thank God for our mothers, family and friends.
God in heaven, hear my plea, give the engineers the knowledge to stop the oil flow
into the Gulf and help the sea life to escape. Keep the people safe who work and live
on the coast and restore the economy of the USA. Forgive us our sins, keep us safe,
praise you for your blessings!! I pray in Jesus's name, Amen Thank you Jesus!!

Regarding whether I pray for forgiveness from God, Doris, I do so at least twice a day but that has nothing to do with this poem, "High Noon in Downtown Chicago," which came from my imagination and not from my personal life. Most of my poems have nothing to do with my real life. I make most things up. Prose is for reality in my book. Donal

I share your prayer this Sunday morning, Doris. The "black gold" in the Gulf reminds us that the earth is bleeding now. Very compelling poem. Love, Carolyn

Great words in this write, Doris! Hopefully they will be successful with whatever they do to stop the oil catastrophe...And thank you for your comments! Yes, I have seen many movies and documentaries on Holocaust and the worst was that allied forces knew about the concentracion camps and did not do anything. At least they could have trown bombs on the rail tracks where people were taken to these camps and murdered....Gert
