Black Cat

Do you hunt the moon with a paw's swipe As your green eyes embrace the night Black as the darkness you enthrall Breaking silence by screeching bawl Never pet spirit free Roam the night's city Seek the shadows of the dark Fangs embedded razor sharp Tear the flesh raw One last whimper falls Fly from roof to roof to roof Dance love's tango leave aloof Fight for space leave your mark Flee from packs of savage bark Ascending into the night's air Landing on soft feet without fear Hunched up back a snarling hiss Claws like daggers that don't miss Hounds think better and return home Dawn waves back velvet tones With a yawn and long stretch Feet to home the cat gets Safe in warmth of fluffy pillow Lazy cat so cozy and mellow Purrs away the coming day At night is when black cats play

great. I have a black cat found front of my stoops as a six weeks old. she destroys my house to this day but the purr makes it acceptable sharing a life with a pup chasing a yellow ball.
