Black Cat

As dark as the night
In the absence of shadows
She prowls and she play
On ground and by windows

Her name was once Luna
But now it is Pepper
She hides when she's sought
But her love is forever

Come here black cat
Let me hold you on my lap
There's nothing to be afraid of
You are welcomed to nap

A bond is forged
Even unlikely
Between me and my black cat
Done so rightly

Ah, Robert, there is no feeling quite like having a cat snuggle up with you. It's a special treat. I enjoyed your poem.
