Black But Not Dark
I’m nice and friendly but
my complexion ,
Is black .
Struggle to be on top always with my skills
and knowledge ,
I don’t lack.
I have many skills and traits that lots of people ,
Try to
…Emulate .
One of them is science and mathematics,
which makes me
To calculate
I have strong passion for writing
of poetry which is
Full of fun ,
Like to juggle words together freely
and is called
…Pun .
Selfishness ,politics and religious hypocrisy ,
I detest
To the core,
Sweet music with slow vibes I love ,
which makes me
Ask for more ,
I’m black but my mind is not dark,
full of goodies
And grace .
My soul travels in perpetual slow
moving cart ,
To complete this race .
Even though my skin is black ,
my heart fights
For people’s right ,
Which removes their sorrows and pains
making them evaporate
….In bright sunlight .
