Black and White
Black & White
By: Tom Wright

I strive to see, in life, things as they are
not hews of gray as some would have them be.
Nor placing hopes & wishes upon a star
but happenings long ago upon a tree.
For from that tree, for me, a price was paid
with blood and water spilled that cloudy day.
Then to a borrowed tomb, my Jesus, was laid
arising three days hence, to provide my way.
In life, seeing absolute's, I will not fail his test,
and always, good from evil, I will discern.
For in daily prayer and giving life my best
the best to me, life surely will return.
