Bitter Fight

Between light and dark, black and white Lies my heart in a bitter fight Succumb to compassion or choose to be numb To help another human is considered wrong I've done all I can but it's breaking me down My air is constricted, my heart violently pounds If I continue on, I will lose myself I will fade away until nothing's left I'll go back to the way that I was before Alone and fighting my own private war Bitter and broken, no one by my side Lost and confused, not feeling alive I'll open old scars, tear through fresh skin Walk down old paths and relive the pain
