Bitter Beauty

There is a rage in my soul, Untold crimes crowd my mind, Unknown crimes from a time, Where men hung from trees, And their sons made to bleed, The blood of bitterness. There is a rage in my soul, Who can calm the tides? Of my bitter insides? God help me to see, The beauty in me.
