Bite Your Tongue

anger, betrayal, confusion, how i feel, life, spoken word

BITE YOUR TONGUE ©

Tongues march forth in a wicked line---
From harvests of viciousness potent as wine….
Their stories can escalate to a viper’s bite!
Victims do retaliate in a set manner of ‘like’---
If not taught understanding and shame….
They will ‘too’ also walk bent and lame.
Bite one’s tongue a fore it splits---
And the eavesdropper is made ‘deaf’ to all words!

A clever offering that tackles a most common topic in life....tongue wagging! In Malta we have a saying that goes: Better a word less than one extra! It can save a lot of trouble or pain. // paul

Thanks Paul I had a great time with this write----being a senior, time is so precious.... as water is today and why 'drink tainted water'! Your comments are very welcomed and appreciated. I enjoy my receding years because; as an 'adult lady', I can finally not hold back, criticizing 'verbally'---the unsatisfactory products and especially badly prepared restaurant food that I am given and pay a pretty price for! Many a year I held back returning goods (what-ever) and thus, lost value and monies to and especially my 'treated' not too frequently, when earlier married---meals out! Now I can enjoy, pick and choose and judge! I do this primarily with 'tongue in cheek' mode and also with the show of my lovely O'l Lady Charm of a smile! This gets me places and things I could only dream 'once upon a time' about. A tongue wagging senior Lady poet....didee!

Thanks SKAT A, I am glad when you enjoy what I have shared today. Many a time I have learnt to 'bite my tongue' after a tongue lashing was given back!
