Birthday Girl
BIRTHDAY GIRL
The cute little girl with the impish smile
Has a compelling distinctive style
She smiles demurely with a comehither look
But her mind is like an open book
Inside, her thoughts are those of fun
She wishes joy for everyone
She only wants a happy day
And more often than not, she gets her way
She writes great poetry for all to read
And to her talent, I must concede
I'll never be able to write so well
Although I try, I seem to fail
But more than that, I call her friend
Best wishes for you are what I send
She's my idol in verse, you see
