Decades on the run
I still shine under the sun
A soldier so strong I stand
Trying to be a hero in my homeland
Helping this celebration are mocking birds singing
As my ears get fed with jingle bells ringing
Grown up; ready to put on rings
But still worried about what tomorrow brings
Celebrating the day some wished I would die
With a big cake on the table about to cut a pie
Only one prayer of thanks to God for the life so precious
Hoping never to change to become a monster malicious
