Birthday

On the weeks before your birthday
You’re suppose to be excited
But I don’t get excited
because it’s never too joyous,
It use to be so happy so free
When he was around to see
But now I can’t get my hopes up
Because I’ll just be more stuck
In that rut of sadness and disappointment
I turn to madness
On my birthday June 6th
