Bird Watching

Watching birds in the garden Is such a simple pleasure Today I observed a sight A memory I will treasure A humble little sparrow Drab in his brown and grey Had spied the ultimate prize Lying on the grassy ley I could see he really wanted it He hopped about with glee Then grabbed onto it firmly Flying to a cabbage tree You may not think much of this But it was a mighty feat For it was a peacock feather That he carried in his beak! It fell to the ground three times As he struggled to his nest But in the end he made it And his home was brightly dressed I observed all this and smiled At the moral of this charming scene Watching birdies in the garden Showed me never give up on your dream
