Big Dreaming

One time they say "dream big"
Next they say "lower your expectations"
A lush fig tree without a fig
Christ cursed to dry for its waste of season

For an ignoble vessel can rise to be noble
Therefore gratitude must not trick us to settle for less
For there is grace to grace and portions do double
And your heart yearns for more if you would truly confess

Isn't it God who makes men and nations great?
Why deceive me into stagnation in the name of contentedness
When God assures destiny, you insure against fate
How shall we occupy till He comes with this helplessness

In these ways are the children of the world wiser
Wasn't the master impressed by his servant's shrewdness
If my duties I abscond and with my substance I be a miser
Though I squander not, I fail at faithfulness

Therefore we hope for much and expect to be astounded
It is written of exceedingly abundantly above imagination
To bequeath, be renown, be exalted and founded
And your establishment be the hallmark of a generation

K. Muitherero.
