Big Dipper
In the early morning hours
before the sun even knows to rise
I am out there
with blood shot eyes
Looking up at the sky
I am waiting for something unexpected to pass by
I can see my breathe as I warm my hands
Stars so bright light up like grand stands
I embrace the darkness and the quiet
It's the only time I feel quite right
No noise, no traffic, no commotion
Just myself, the sky and my emotion
There's beauty in the darkness you see
Take it in
Don't run and flee
Taking in the darkness is the first step
to understand the other side more in depth
We will pass on so make amends now
before curtain calls final bow.
