Beyond the Breakers

Upon a rock I stood

And pondered on the sea,

Stretching way beyond the breakers

Out to infinity.

I looked to the horizon

Where the water met the sky,

From my rock I realised

How insignificant was I.

Above my head seagulls called,

In haunting melody.

Echoing in an empty sky,

As I pondered on the sea.

Another easy seven for me, Gary. You have adequately expressed the deep effect of the ocean on one's psyche.
