Between the Ears
I raise my glass
and give false cheers
Leave on the light
to hide my fears
Wear make up
to fade the years
Bow my head
to avoid their sneers
Run in the rain
to disguise my tears
Plaster on a smile
as inside it sears
Gaze at the clock
as the time nears
Watch it slip away
as it disappears
