Between Life and Death

Between life and death comes
Survival
How you live is how you’ll be seen
You will mold your outcomes
Unmindful
Of hidden spaces in between.

Making some bad choices
You come ‘round
You’ll listen close, then comes the light
As you hear the voices
Duty bound
You hurry on to make things right.

Each space ‘tween life and death’s
But a day
It’s all you have, your only chance
Thankful for all your breaths
You must pray
While waiting for the final dance.
