Better Than...

Better than to never have known
the sisterhood which we have sown
than sever more than working limbs
due to my frailty, by honor.
Better if you bit my hand
for this my heart could comprehend
anger from my choices when...
Better this than silence.
For in silence, you express
my tepid void in your distaste
that all the years have been in haste
is all I can imagine.
Better than to never have spent
the hours which we gave and lent
the moments grown to monument
a stone at the bottom of the sea.
Better if you keep in step
with friends without an inch of depth
Better for they will never reach
the place that's aching now.
Admit nothing, close the door
and watch the stone break on the shore
Better to be broke in half
than live with disappointment.
