Better Off Without You

Better Off Without You. I’ve been hearing rumors. These things that you’ve been saying. A tragedy a travesty these games that you are playing. My heart was set on moving on my feet were moving fast. Then, here you come again and dredging up the past. I know it wasn’t long ago it seemed I lost my way. Still it’s not a reason to say the things you say. It seems to me it used to be I once would turn to you. Believing still, I always will somehow you helped me through. I used to think in thoughts of you, you were a friend indeed. More sorry even now than then I was the friend in need. So carry on and have your fun, oh how I refused to doubt you. Just so you know before you go, I’m better off without you. Like secrets told in shadows. Or whiskey in a coffee cup. I hope that you don’t lose your way when Karma catches up. Edwin C Hofert
