Betrayed

who casued you to sell
your costly love
for the stories told of me
the ones carved out by
the hollow laughter
of the wicked, taunting sea

in your edeavor to the masses
you only tickled your insanity
but when you turn
to reap your wages
you will only find your vanity

but too late
too late
your chance to be loved has fled
and all that your heart has left
for you
are the holes from which it bled
