Betrayed

im shaking in my chair
im ripping out my hair
falling in blank stare
breathing the cold air
im feeling from your shoulder
i guess its cause we're older
we used to be so cool
till u started acting like such a fool
u chose everyone but me
be the person to make you happy
i was there
when u thought everything was unfair
i was by your side
every moment u wanted to cry
i whispered in your ear
that with me you have nothing to fear
but you turned your back
on a person that
did so much
to keep u in touch
with the person inside
the person u seem to hide
i picked up the pieces when u fall
and know your too good to answer my call
wow i thought i was your man
and thought i was your lover and your best friend
betrayal is what i see
and your slowly pushing to edge
im extending my hand
but im stretching like a rubber band band
and we're slipping grip
and your not even starting to trip
with a look like you don't care
like we never breathed the same air
and now i see
in the halls u walk past
you don't look my way
or give me the time of day
you really broke my heart
and was the reason we broke apart

Acts of betrayal can turn a life upside down. Your heartfelt message was vividly conveyed, Eric. Thanks for sharing this with us; I think everyone can relate to the feeling you described. Love, Carolyn
