Betrayal of First Love

Betrayal, the worst kind of pain, it takes a one track mind and makes it derail, too many variables so love grows stale, all thoughts fixated on the knife that’s impaled, how do you love again when the wounds make your heart frail, I wish I could wipe my memory, and begin a new tale, but my story goes on, even though the innocence of first love is gone, I must move on, maybe alone, or with another woman in my arms, but I’ll never forget how you felt, so soft with thorns hidden just beyond, like a rose you wilted faster than I could have ever known.
