Betrayal

Once again I am standing
All by myself
For my friends have deceived
And stole in the night with stealth

Yet no matter
How much trust is given
There was no possible motivation
No reason to why they were driven
To the betrayal a friend

Never were they wrong
It seems like a story
Written down in a song
This is a lesson for the future
No doubt about it
I need time to myself
To contemplate a little bit

Trust must be earned
Not just given away
It is written in stone
And is there to stay
Or at least that’s
What some people say
