Best Left
I found a memory today.
It came my way while pondering
some very unimportant thing
and was itself a minor thought
on nothing much
but in some way it held my mind and touched
a place within I'd thought was lost.
It stayed a while and warmed
this spot for so long scorned until
I had remembered bit by bit
the reason I’d forgotten it.
