Best Friends
The puppy and the kitty were the best of friends
They touch noses until their whiskers got the bends.
They ran together and frolicked and laughed and played.
They had the best time together, neither afraid.
They cuddled up at night, in the arms of each other.
They considered each other a sister and a brother.
Some people were surprised. They asked how can this be?
They did not know that dogs and cats could have this much glee.
They laughed and they tumbled and they rumbled and puppy barked.
The kitty meowed and patted you down, their friendship was a lark!
They both loved playing together in the winter, spring, summer and fall.
Few adults understood it, but they were actually the best friends of all!
