Best Friends

Sometimes someone grows on you
until they reside in your heart
the times you spend together
coloring those when you're apart.

There's a rainbow you both share
not only with your wardrobes
but when you watch the sky
or decorate your earlobes.

Times spent together go by
far too quickly, such fun!
You enjoy a lunch at Wendy's
as much as watching a setting sun.

When one is in trouble
the other comes to the rescue
taking care of what needs doing
as if on angelic cue.

Once in awhile you argue
though you make it better soon
then you both laugh about it
ending up singing a happy tune.

The future always looks bright
you imagine sitting together
old chairs rocking in unison
through any kind of weather.

Hi Kathryn, we are all blessed in many ways from friendship, and it is truly amazing how our true friends stand beside us through the sunny days and even the most difficult ones and as time goes on they do grow on us and we learn to love them and appreciate them for just being who they are and we welcome them into our families with open arms because thats what friends are for. thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with all of us,Dean
