Best Friend

younger than me she happens to be
prettier than me she happens to be
smarter than me she happens to be
we are both trapped and ready to break free

in a world of lonthsome, anguish and pain
foster care has left us used and slain
we will yet be remembered, they will speak our name
our memory will haunt the ones who hurt us
we will never be left in vain

understand that we are greater than you
understand we are smarter than you
you dont understand what weve been through
but understand this...
we still love you

she is my best friend
and she understands
now we concured the pain
we are not in vain
we walk in the sand
hand in hand
no longer lonly
and wet with rain

... we have won

What a wonderful tribute to your friend. I'll bet she thinks YOU are the one who is prettier and smarter. We draw such inspiration from those who understand us. Thanks for sharing this! Carolyn
