A friendship had started one day on the phone When I first met Marlene, I didn’t feel alone, She asked me those questions in a phone interview When I thought to myself, “what the hell do I do?” You gave me a chance to become one of them Become a new leader and join SCM, Within months I would join you to work in HR You would teach me and praise me and make me a star, You are strong in your wisdom and quiet in your drive You encourage all others to reach what they strive, You are open to challenge and all things alike For example the time that you rode ‘kiddie bike’ Always a friend and a coach and a mentor You guided the team to see what they were there for, You were able to help them to work through their day Support them and hear what they all had to say, Connections don’t happen without a good reason Friendships don’t grow without special season, And I will always remember how much you cared Best Friend, good buddy all the times that we shared.
