Beneath the Weeping Willow
Time stood still as you drew your last breathe,
Visions of our memories are all that are left,
Questions unanswered and words left to say,
A piece of me faded on your dying day,
Called home to the place where your soul rests,
Cherishing our time given for which I was blessed,
Beneath the weeping willow I cry out your name,
Hoping to see you but reality remains the same,
The branches cover me like dark upon the night,
Searching beyond to your place out of sight,
Leaves of the willow flowing against the breeze,
I'm beholden to the silence enveloping me,
I sit beneath the willow with you on my mind,
Hoping your presence may be what I find,
The roots of a willow are deep inside the ground,
The roots of my heart you will always be found,
We have a lot in common this willow and I,
The glistening of tears as clouds fill the sky,
Where have you gone? Please can you return?
Seasons have passed and the leaves begin to turn,
Beneath the weeping willow I shall remain,
Cherishing the memories left in your name,
Until we meet again in a place beyond the tree,
One with the willow I shall always be
