Below This Ground
Here he lies in front of us all
Nothing wrong; he is dead that's all
Vanity be our tears for his eyes have forever closed
And if ours ever see him again, he shall then be a ghost
He no longer resides in this world
His new residence to be is below this ground
Perhaps he touched your life, perhaps he got into your nerves
Perhaps you had some beef with him, perhaps you had lots of laughs
Little it matters now whatever your connection was
His demise could be someone's gain, but its to most of us, a loss
That is why we are here today, some of us silent and others crying out loud
To lay this dear friend of ours below this ground
Memories of him is all that shall now remain
Some to be remembered fondly and some with a lot of pain
Those who will remember him the longest loved him the most
I hope they will gather every year this date to make a toast
To plant flowers on his grave all around
So that his memories will not rot with him below this ground
We shall see him again if there is a life after this one we know
I wish I could assure there is a place we are all meant to go
A place we could all be happy together like a clown on morphine
But I guess we shall find out one day when it is our turn in the coffin
We shall meet the silence or we shall hear the sound
We shall see the light or remain in the dark, beside him below this ground.
