Below a Sky Few Moon Have Seen
We held hands
in the Hit the Road
Highway cafe,
below a sky
few moon have seen.
The mountains were still
falling, just like
in a dream
where the
stars used to shine.
The planet
curves down
on the western side
as oceans swelled on the east.
Here we were stuck in
the middle, on the
edge of eloquence--
preparing our
bows against the beast.
Unrivaled mutations rose
in the shaded starlight,
they walked down the
highway in the dead of the night.
The darkness sang just
like the end of a song...
We never should had
come here,
we do not belong.
