Beloved Kitty of Chartreuse Eyes

You darling being
I love you so
I've watched you romp
I've watched you grow
Long silky grays
And eyes so green
A nature sweet
No bone that's mean
But now I learn
You've gotten ill
So every day
You'll need a pill
To keep you well
Cos' you're so dear
I'll do what I must
To keep you here
To brighten my life
Like you so do
You make me laugh
You adore me too!
Can't even imagine
How torn I'd be
If God would take you
Away from me
Yes I know
Someday we'll part
I'm not ready yet
For that broken heart
So sweetest kitty
Be well, be strong
I'm going to pray
That you'll live long
