Beleaguered Battlefield
Beleaguered Battlefield
On site of a past battlefield I had been
Can you imagine doing it over again?
Bloodshed, suffering and senseless death
Right down to the last dying breath.
Lonely majestic eagle flies high overhead
Looking down on site of those once dead
And on the flat plain rain started to pour
Down on site of those not there anymore.
High in heaven is where they have gone
Looked back on earth they once laid upon
God again please in one more big breath
Blow all the pain away suffered from death.
No matter how hard things are or times dim
Prayed to God and then into the arms of Him
Where there exists an endless sandy shore
And peace always prevails for evermore.
This poem written by me is designed along
the lines of modern times and language
usage. It has been constructed to smoothly
flow and reach for your each feeling.
