Belated Mother's Day Poem

I thought upon my past and cried
Though, I know, you haven't died
You're miles away and I can still see
The smile of the woman who gave birth to me
Where there is love, there is a way
I promise, again, we'll spend a day
Even though for now we both may be lost,
I'll see you again no matter the cost
