Notes About The Poem

2/15/2026 for One On One With Myself Poetry Contest sponsored by Nette Onclaud

Being Twenty

Greetings, me, twenty-year-old youth,
I bring you words of hard-earned truth
in this enlightened gleam.
Mark that which my shining soul emits,
warnings, my aged essence transmits,
fearing that once the morning hits,
you'll soon forget this dream.

Thanks, Andrea! Yep, I was relatively happy with this except for one word, but I won't mention which. Good night!
