Being There
All these years of blood, sweat, and tears
the undying will to carry on despite all the
debilitating fears
Just 'being there' is what I longed to see
to finally live my dream and be all I knew I could be
What was it really for? Was it all in vain?____
The flurry of lies, jealousy and close-mindedness,
I think I have just cause to complain
Society! Why does she shut her eyes and stuff her ears?
Why won't she hear my cry or help dry my salty tears?
Being there, now I wonder?
Being there, should I go asunder?
Being there, trying to belong
Being there, feeling like all I do is wrong
Now that I'm here, what will it take?
to rid my being of this lonely, sullen heartache?
