Being Read By the Seer

The vogue today is to be “read”.
I was referred to Lallatoo by two friends.
They told me I would never forget my reading.
She was super mystical; I was astounded by her.

Are you a seer? I asked.
I consider myself a spiritual seeker, she replied.
I looked it up but there was nothing specific.
Are you a psychic? I asked.

I am a prophetess who understands runes.
I was attracted to the tarot, and now I read the cards.
Hence, I am a reader she replied.
I am as confused as ever.

She pulled things out of my brain I had forgotten.
Reminded me of things I wanted to forget.
You really are a seer, I told her.
Terrified of what else she might see.

When I have had similar experiences, Caren, I have always been afraid of what they saw in my future, so I would sit on pins and needles during the reading. If there's anything really disturbing, I've found they usually keep it to themselves.
