Behind a Cloud

I set up a chair in a patch of sun
To counteract the chill
And tip my face up to the sky
To feel the warmth, until...

A cloud drifts by and blocks the rays
Which had felt oh, so good.
A minute later, there’s the sun,
Back up there like it should.

This peek-a-boo continues -
Rules that Nature has allowed -
So I sit and wait as sunshine
Darts out from behind a cloud.

And it's a good source of vitamin D, especially if one is a shut-in. Sadly my apartment lacks a balcony, so I can't sit out and soak up the sun nor can I have a bird feeder – too messy says the manager. Enjoyed this one. / M

"But now they only block the sun / They rain and snow on everyone / So many things I would have done / But clouds got in my way". Sorry, I couldn't resist. Dealing with a peek-a-boo sun myself today.

Yes Ilene. Sit there all day because I sense that you gleaned a bit of enjoyment out of the sun and the clouds.

Isn't that how gods play checkers? Watching clouds drifting by is a great source of inspiration! Have fun! Aloha! Rico

But it's far better for the sun to play hide and seek with a cloud than for it to go in totally and you get rain:-) hugs jan xx
