Beginning of the End

After being your lover
How can I be just your friend
Why do I get the feeling that this is
The beginning of the end

Can’t we go back to the place we knew
Where love was you and me
I don’t want to live in a world alone
Saying I instead of we

All I want is to hold you
Sleep beside you in your bed
All I want to be with you
But you leave me crying instead

Don't leave me hanging on words you wont say
Don't let our love just slip away
I need the truth, no in-between
Are we over...or still "we"

We used to be happy, we used to smile
We used to laugh...but no more
Don’t throw away all that we have
And everything you and I stand for

Don’t keep me hanging by a thread
Don’t leave me cold inside
If I walk away, I’ll never come back
For all I’ll have left is my pride

I don’t know where I stand with you
I need you to let me know
If you want me...then tell me
If you don’t...then please let me go..
