Beginning of the End

I lie in the grass,
Knees in my hands,
Shattering like glass.
Trying to understand
As you turn you back
On what I thought was confirmed.
Your eyes seafoam green
Like the waves.
The ocean retreated,
But never returned.
To be completed
Leaving the beach a slave,
I walk away
Trying to forget
What happened today
