Listen to poem:

Beginning Again

Beginning Again
David J Walker

I am the crumpled shirt
Ignored on the back floor
        of your closet

I am the good idea
that became your
        Lost cause
occasional thought then
Forgotten again and again

I am the misremembrance
Of a past love
        with a silver locket
a place to keep my name
Lost in a forgotten jewel box

I am minding my manors and
Mending my fences
I am beginning to
		Think about
Beginning again
