Before You
Before you, you find my heart
laid out for judgment unafraid
for with the grace of a falling leaf
my words are my prayers played.
Before you, you find my fears
shivering, before all, displayed.
With the gentlest touch of doe eyes
my words are my prayers played.
Before you, you may find joys
like sheaves of golden grain arrayed,
may your soul be lightened in sharing
my words are my prayers played.
Before you, understood, calm
for your judgment is now waylaid
since we are only human beings
my words are my prayers played.
