Before We Knew the One We Know

Before we knew the one we know…. By: Steve Hudson

Once we were attracted to each other
Before we even knew each other,
Passion flowed through our bodies
Ready to ignite at the faintest glow,

Now we know each other
Time and circumstance has lulled our affections
Passion is reduced to a re-action that is never an action
The gravity of our reality takes form on aged bodies

The glow that once lightened up the fires in our room
Now frightens the idea of romance between the frigid bride and groom
Wouldn’t lovemaking be breathtaking if only we could see?
The one we knew, before we know, making that our reality.
