Before We Depart

What is left when we depart, maybe sadness or a broken heart
The wisdom gained throughout the years of ups and downs and laughs and tears
For we arrive with nothing just our pure and innocent souls
With hope to learn, to give, to love, as gently our life unfolds
We learn this from our mothers and our dear significant others
And hopefully these gifts we learn will stay inside our heart
For us to share as we travel out there before it’s our time to depart
