Before the Last Curtain Falls
After the thief of time has stolen my years
Then saws my memories in half
When these old tired feet get draggy
And the narrow road becomes my path
When the Curtain-Call is announced
An no one stands to cheer
When old friends have departed
And long cold nights are here
Still, I'll stand in silent pride
Of the past victories I knew
Someday this old floor'll be polished
And the curtains fresh and new
I will strive to retain my vigor
from the long and dangerous haul
And though, I'm alone, I still can boast
Before the last curtain falls
