Before the Blacktop Ends

Listen to poem:
Before The Blacktop Ends
David J Walker

The world wends
	And extends
A mile or two before
The blacktop ends
It ends in dust

	It ends in rust
Transcends the trust of
Casuistic treasures

It measures miles
It humors trials
And tempers time
And fills the files
	With pleasures
	Only pleasures

And clings to things
	Familiar
Before the blacktop ends

We won’t have to worry about these things in the afterlife. My late husband had a deep voice like you. His son sounds like him and is working on doing voice overs. You would make an excellent announcer. I enjoyed this David. Blessings xxoo
